Las Vegas Sun 06JUL75 YOUNGEST BOATER - Flotilla Capt. (sic) Vernon Rice presents Michelle Hass, age 10, with a trophy she won as the youngest person to complete the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Safe Boating Course. Governor Mike O'Callagan has declared this week as Nevada Safe Boating Week.

Lake Havasu Herald Orville Watson, Flotilla 92 vice commander, one of the instructors in the eight-week boating safety and seamanship course of the local U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, shows the proper procedure for launching a boat. The class of about 50 men and women will graduate March 24. This field trip was at Site 6 on Pittsburgh Point.

Mohave Valley News 10JUL75 HARD AT WORK - Coast Guard Auxiliary officer Bernard Hier spent the weekend of the Fourth at the Katherine Landing boat launch. While others frollicked (sic), the dedicated people of the Auxiliary volunteered their time to public safety
Mohave Valley News (summer) 1975 YOUNG VALLEY men who are 14 or 15 years old are being sought by the Bullhead City Sea Scouts to help run their 25 foot tug boat on Lake Mohave this summer. The only requirements, besides age, are an enjoyment of boating, swimming and camping. (Sea Scouts sponsored by Flotilla 94)

Mohave Valley News 10DEC75 BANQUET HONORS -- Honoring outgoing U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 94 Commander Pearl Hier recently at a "Change of Watch" banquet at the Holiday Hacienda Clubhouse, were, left to right, Captain Hank Gilbertson, Vice Captain Bernie Hymen, Commander Pearl Hier, William Davidson, new Commander, and new Vice Commander George Griffin. Additionally, Commander Hier was surprised that night with a birthday cake to help celebrate her 70th birthday. |
