DIVISION IX

O.D.T. Lynch, Jr. DCP IX

( Article and picture from Division IX Archives)

I’d like to ask a “simple” question. Why did you join the Coast Guard Auxiliary ? A proper, and logical answer would be: “To do one or all of the following: examine boats, teach the public, go on patrol, or …heh, heh -have a good time !” In other words…to participate in at least one of the four pillars of the Auxiliary: Examination, Public Education, Operations, and Fellowship. You probably specialized in one of these…or more. You might even ask me a question: “How do I get more outof my Auxiliary membership?” A good question…and, not really hard to answer. Membership training is the key to realizing the fullest satisfaction from any and all of our pillars.
